Terms and conditions of sale

In force as of 16 September 2026.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the sale of a licence to use the Socle software, a personal budgeting application that runs in a web browser and can be installed on a device.

They apply to buyers who are consumers within the meaning of the preliminary article of the French Consumer Code.

2. The seller

The sale is concluded with Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as merchant of record on behalf of C&C Consulting, the publisher of the software.

In practice: Paddle invoices you, takes the payment, collects VAT or the tax applicable in your country, and handles refunds. C&C Consulting develops the software, publishes updates and answers questions about how to use it.

3. The product

Socle is a personal budgeting application. Its essential characteristics:

System requirements

An up-to-date web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge), on a computer, tablet or phone. No third-party software needs to be installed.

What the product does not do

By design, Socle does not synchronise your data across devices and does not back it up anywhere on your behalf. Backing up is your responsibility: the software lets you export an encrypted file, and it is up to you to keep it. If you erase the application or change device without a backup, your data is lost — the publisher cannot restore it, because it never held a copy.

In the same way, the password cannot be reset. A recovery code is given to you once, when the account is created; it is the only spare key that exists. Neither the publisher nor anyone else can open an account whose password and recovery code have both been lost.

These two limits are the direct counterpart of there being no server. They are stated again inside the software when the account is created.

4. Price

The licence costs 19 € including all taxes, as a single payment. Updates to the software are included, with no time limit.

The price shown at checkout includes the tax applicable in your country of residence. No subscription, no recurring payment, no later charges.

5. Ordering and payment

Orders are placed on the checkout page operated by Paddle. The accepted means of payment are listed there. C&C Consulting never sees your payment card details.

The sale is complete when payment is confirmed. You receive an invoice and the details you need to access the software by email.

6. Right of withdrawal

The principle

Under Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code, you have fourteen days in which to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to give a reason.

The exception for digital content

Article L.221-28 13° of the same Code provides that this right cannot be exercised for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where three conditions are met: performance began after your prior express consent, you expressly waived your right of withdrawal, and the trader provided you with confirmation of that agreement.

These three conditions are presented to you explicitly on the checkout page, as two separate tick boxes that you must confirm before paying. Until you tick them, your right of withdrawal remains intact.

How to withdraw

If you did not waive your right, or if you believe the conditions above were not met, send your request to support@socle.consulting or directly to Paddle using the link on your invoice. The refund is made within fourteen days of your request being received, using the same means of payment.

A model withdrawal form is reproduced at the end of these terms.

Our own practice, which goes further than the law

Whatever the above says, C&C Consulting refunds on request within thirty days of purchase, with no reason needed. We would rather have a customer who leaves with their money back than a customer stuck with software they do not want.

7. Legal guarantee of conformity

The software is covered by the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (Articles L.224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code). If the software does not match what is described here, you can ask for it to be brought into conformity, and failing that for a price reduction or for the contract to be terminated.

This guarantee applies regardless of any commercial warranty.

8. Updates

C&C Consulting provides the updates needed to keep the software in conformity. They are made available at the same address, free of charge.

9. Support

Questions about using the software go to support@socle.consulting. We reply within three working days.

10. Liability

Socle is a budgeting tool. It is not investment advice, not tax advice, and not a payment service. Financial decisions taken on the basis of what it displays are yours alone.

C&C Consulting cannot be held liable for data lost through the absence of a backup, through the loss of the password and the recovery code, or through the user deleting the application — these situations being, by design, irreversible and flagged as such.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you hold as a consumer under the law.

11. Personal data

The software collects no personal data: it has no server. Order data is processed by Paddle and by C&C Consulting on the terms set out in the privacy policy.

12. Consumer mediation

In accordance with the provisions of the French Consumer Code on the consumer dispute mediation process, after contacting us and failing a satisfactory reply, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediation procedure with:

13. Governing law
